Terms of use
ParentNote · last updated 20 October 2026
These terms apply when you use the ParentNote app. ParentNote is made by Better at Parenting (Hugo Torres, United Kingdom) ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to these terms and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple's EULA"). If the two disagree, these terms apply, except where Apple's EULA says it must take priority.
ParentNote is not medical advice. ParentNote helps you keep records, and nothing in the app replaces a doctor, health visitor, pharmacist or other professional. Always check medicine doses with a professional or the packaging. If you're worried about your child's health, contact your GP, call NHS 111 in the UK, or speak to your doctor. In an emergency, call 999 in the UK, 911 in the US, or your local emergency number.
Using ParentNote
We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use ParentNote on Apple devices that you own or control, as set out in Apple's EULA. Please don't misuse the app, try to break its security, or use it to store anything unlawful.
Your records
What you add to ParentNote belongs to you. It's stored on your device and in your own iCloud, as explained in our Privacy Policy. You're responsible for keeping your device and iCloud account secure and for keeping your own copies of anything important. Use the app's export options to save copies. We aren't responsible for data lost through device loss, iCloud problems or deletions you make.
Caregiver sharing
When you invite someone to a child, they can see that child's records, and, if you allow it, add and edit them. You decide who to invite. Access lasts until you remove it; it doesn't end by itself. Only invite people you trust with your child's information.
Free features and Premium
Core features are free. Premium adds extra features and is sold through the App Store as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment: Apple charges your App Store account when you confirm the purchase.
- Automatic renewal: monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancelling: manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds: refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Premium preview: when you add your first child, you get a free preview of Premium. It never turns into a paid subscription by itself. When it ends, you keep all typed records and the free features. Keeping photos, videos and file attachments in the app needs Premium. If you don't subscribe, you get time to export them to Photos or Files first, and they're only removed from the app after you confirm.
- Family Sharing: Premium can be shared with your Apple Family Sharing group where Apple supports it.
Amazon links
The Supplies tab suggests products and links to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. This doesn't change the price you pay. We don't sell these products, and Amazon is responsible for them, their delivery and their safety information. Suggestions are general: check that a product suits your child's age and needs, and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Changes and availability
We may update ParentNote, change or remove features, or change these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or on this page, and update the date above. We try to keep ParentNote working, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we aren't responsible for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable, or that come from medical, care or purchasing decisions made using the app. If you're a consumer, you also have legal rights that these terms don't affect.
Ending use
You can stop using ParentNote at any time and delete your data from Settings → "Delete all data". We may stop providing the app. If we do, we'll try to give you notice so you can export your records.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you can also rely on the consumer laws of where you live, and bring a claim in your local courts.
