Terms of use
Dream Star Bedtime · last updated 6 October 2026
These terms are between you and Better at Parenting (Hugo Torres, United Kingdom) for the Dream Star Bedtime app. On iOS, Apple’s standard end-user licence agreement also applies; where the two differ, Apple’s governs for the App Store version.
What you get
A personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own, for your own family. The voice recordings, sounds, drawings and words in the app are ours or licensed to us; you may not copy them out of the app or resell them.
Subscription
- We may let you use the app free for a while before you buy, with nothing to pay and no subscription started. How long is shown in the app; we may change or end this offer at any time, but not for free use you have already started. The free use is once per phone: deleting and reinstalling the app does not start it again. After it, the app needs a subscription or a one-off lifetime purchase. The price and the period are shown before you buy.
- A subscription (monthly or every six months) renews automatically until you cancel.
- The lifetime purchase is a single payment with no renewal. It unlocks the app for as long as we offer it, on the Apple or Google account you bought it with; on a new phone, sign in to the same account and use Restore.
- For a subscription, payment is taken by Apple or Google from the account you use with the store when you buy, and then at the start of each period, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- You cancel in the store’s subscription settings (Settings › your name › Subscriptions on iPhone; Play Store › your profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions on Android), not by deleting the app.
- Refunds are handled by the store under its rules. We cannot issue them ourselves.
- If we change a price, Apple or Google will notify you of the change before it applies, as required by their subscription rules, since they hold your payment details and we do not. You can cancel before the new price takes effect.
- App Store offer codes, redeemed in the App Store, may give a discount, free time or the lifetime unlock. Each code can be used once unless it says otherwise, and its terms are shown before you redeem it.
Using it safely
The app is a helper for a bedtime routine, run by a parent or carer. It is not a babysitter, a monitor, or medical advice. Stay with your child as you normally would, decide yourself what the routine should contain, and place the phone somewhere sensible. The app cannot see or hear anything beyond the short words it listens for, and it does not know if your child is safe.
What we promise, and what we can’t
We work hard to make the app reliable, but speech recognition can mishear, Smart listening’s AI can misunderstand an answer or word a reply imperfectly, alarms depend on the phone’s settings, and phones do unexpected things. The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from its use, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for the app in the last twelve months (or for the lifetime purchase, if that is how you bought it). Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under UK law.
Changes and ending
We may update the app and these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or on this page. You can stop using the app at any time by cancelling the subscription and deleting it. We may end your licence if you break these terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to its courts, without affecting mandatory consumer protections where you live.
